Israel and Hamas have agreed to Egypt‘s ceasefire initiative, which would go into effect at 2am on Friday.
Cairo will send two delegations to Gaza and Tel Aviv to ensure implementation and discuss next steps, under the directives of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
The ceasefire ends 11-day conflict which left 232 Palestinians killed by Israeli strikes in Gaza and 12 Israelis.
On Thursday, US President Joe Biden discussed Gaza with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and the White House said reports of moves toward a ceasefire were “encouraging.”
