The Queen had been under medical supervision at Balmoral Castle in Scotland after her health condition had deteriorated. Prior to her passing away, family members traveled to Balmoral to be with the Queen.

Born in London on 21 April 1926 as Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, she became the longest serving monarch in British history, ruling for 70 years after coming to the throne in 1952.

The Queen’s eldest son Charles, the Prince of Wales, is set to take over as the new monarch of the United Kingdom and the head of state of each country in the Commonwealth realm, including Canada, Australia, Jamaica, New Zealand and more.
