Nigeria’s gospel singer, Damilare Odunuga, who is popularly known as Dare Melody, has said like gospel music to be more inspirational, standard and would make impact in the lives of every listener.
He said this while speaking with Sunday Scoop about a ghastly accident he had on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in November, 2020, and how his car was badly destroyed.
Dare said, “I always pray that Godly music should be restored to astandard that would impact, comfort and renew people’s lives. Iwant gospel to be more inspirational.”
The singer whose car got destroyed in the accident disclosed that God offered him a better one after the accident said, “It was the grace of God that sustained me. Though I lost my car, with divine grace from above, I was given a better version beyond my imagination. I am grateful to God for that.”
He also complimented his wife for the love, care, support shown by saying, “God gave me my wife and she understands me so much. She never stress me when it comes to my work. I always make sureI give so much too, especially when I am not working. I make sure Ispend productive time with my family. I love my family so muchand God has been faithful to me.”
Dare, a father to three girls, noted that they bring him great joy and never had any reason or complaint of their gender.
He said, “It is really wonderful having girls as children and I have never had any issue with that. I am very close to my daughters, so that makes us friends. We are so close and relate freely with one another.
“I have not really established whether any of them wants to follow in my footsteps as a musician but they are all gifted entertainment-wise. Those that don’t sing can dance very well. Time will tell if any of them will be passionate enough to choose music as career.”
Meanwhile, Dare Melody has said he is working on the “house ofGod project.” – new musical project he would be releasing soon.
