Nigerian performers pay final respect to late Martin Mabutho


Nigerian performers Cobhams, Basketmouth, and Praiz, recently joined family, friends and commanders of industries to eulogise and celebrate the life of late Martin Mabutho.

Cobhams, at an event held in honour of Mabutho, said it’s saddened him that he never got to see what the late Martin looked like. He said the late Mabutho was his benefactor and it’s painful that he never got to see what he looked like, hence, the pain he has been feeling since he learned of his death.

The late Mabutho, who was a top staff of MultiChoice Nigeria, was supposed to clock 48 on Saturday, September 25, 2021 but a posthumous birthday was held in his honour at Landmark event centre.

The day, which coincided with the one-month remembrance of late MultiChoice Nigeria’s Chief Customer Officer, had tributes from Chairman of MultiChoice Nigeria, Otunba Adewunmi Ogunsanya, and colleagues.

The event had the CEO of MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe; the Ambassador of the Republic of Botswana to Nigeria, Pule Mphothwe, Jenkins Alumona, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Toke Makinwa, Olisa Adibua, MC Abbey, Tajudeen Adepetu, Kelvin Orifa, and DJ Sose.

Others present include Wana Wana, Steve Babaeko, BBNaija ex-housemates led by Bisola Aiyeola, Mercy Eke, Laycon, Dorathy, Jeff, amongst others.

Martin died on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, in Cape Town, South Africa following a brief illness.

Martin is survived by his wife Thato, his four kids and his parents.
