“Remain Focused, Don’t Let Fame Enter Into Your Head” – Media Personality Advice Comedian Dem, Management Team

Renowned Kenyan media personality Oga Obinna has offered a piece of advice to popular comedian Dem Wa Facebook and her management team as they step into 2025.

Obinna, who has been a key supporter of Dem Wa Facebook’s career, urged her to remain cautious and grounded amid her growing fame.

His message touched on maintaining professionalism, navigating friendships, and learning from past mistakes.

Sharing his thoughts on Instagram on January 1, Obinna expressed pride in her achievements while cautioning her and her team to safeguard her brand as she continues to rise.

He lauded her incredible journey from obscurity to becoming a household name. He reflected on how her social media following had skyrocketed from a modest 7,000 to hundreds of thousands across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.

“It has been my pleasure supporting this brand, and I’m fulfilled seeing how far it has grown. From about 7k followers to hundreds of thousands on IG/FB/YouTube & Tiktok.

“From TikTok to a Household Name. From Skhendu to the World and over. A sensation. A force to reckon with… It was an honour crossing paths and working together.”

As Dem Wa Facebook enjoys the fruits of her success, Obinna urged her to remain focused and not let fame get to her head.

He also cautioned her against relying on new friends, noting that not everyone who enters her circle has good intentions. Some may simply want to exploit her rising fame or take advantage of her brand for personal gain.

“Don’t give your fans the power over your brand. They don’t have your vision. They are fans, and they are seasonal. They will move on to the next like nothing happened after they have corrupted your brand. Don’t let their support get to your head. Stay above the hype.

“Be very careful of the new friends. Not all who come around you mean well. The majority wanna ride on the wave and cash out, same to the men, they wanna ‘taste’ the brand and move on. Be very careful.”

Addressing Dem Wa Facebook’s fans, Obinna emphasised the need for accountability in their support. He urged them to offer constructive criticism to help her grow instead of creating a toxic environment by insulting those who associate with her.

“For Dem Wa Facebook fans, sycophancy without accountability is pointless and useless. Support her and positively criticise her to make her better.”

He warned that the culture of aggressively defending her could isolate her in the entertainment industry, as potential collaborators might fear the backlash from her overly protective fan base.

Obinna also advised Dem Wa Facebook’s management team, urging them to reflect on their past mistakes and adopt a more professional approach.

“The mistakes done in 2024 are lessons. Learn from them and do better. A lot of people will be watching now that you have full autonomy. Make her shine. Make her great. Manage her Pragmatically and logically, not emotionally.

“Consult more from the ones who did it before you. There is no monopoly of ideas. Manage the business/ brand, not the person, and learn the art of discernment between the two.”
