INEC discovers 2.7 million double Registrants


Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Yakubu Mahmood has revealed that 2.7 million double registrations were rooted out of the last Continuous Voters Registration exercise conducted by the commission.

Speaking on Tuesday October 11, at a National Endowment for Democracy event in Washington DC in the United States, Yakubu also announced that the new Permanent Voter Cards will be made available by November.

He added that about 50% of the new PVCs are ready but yet to be distributed to collection centres.
