Zimbabwean Banker named CEO of DFCU Bank Limited in Uganda

Zimbabwean banker, Charles Mudiwa, has been appointed as the new CEO and Managing Director of Development Finance Company of Uganda Bank Limited (DFCU).

The announcement was made by DFCU, and Mr Mudiwa’s appointment will be effective from April 11th. Mudiwa has more than 26 years of experience in banking and has been recognised by Reputation Poll International as one of the Top 50 Reputable Bank CEOs in Africa in 2021.

He has previously worked for other financial institutions in African economies such as Stanbic Bank Kenya and Standard Bank Malawi.

Dr Winifred Tarinyeba Kiryabwire, Chair of the Board of DFCU, described Mudiwa as a visionary leader who has led financial institutions in various African economies with remarkable success.

In response to his appointment, Mudiwa said, “I am happy and honoured to join the DFCU team. Building on DFCU’s strong foundation, I look forward to creating sustainable value for our stakeholders and customers thereby contributing to the growth and development of Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.”
