An insight into a pair of Arsenal’s targets to replace Hector Bellerin, in the case that the stopper moves on this summer, has been forthcoming online.

PSG bound?

Speculation surrounding the future of long-time Gunners star Bellerin has of course taken centre stage in the media over the last 24 hours.

This comes on the back of a report, somewhat out of the blue, surfacing, suggesting that the Spaniard could finally be on his way out of north London this summer.

As per the reliable reliable James Benge, citing sources close to the player, Bellerin is ‘ready to part ways’ with Arsenal, in search of a new challenge.

French champions PSG – who also expressed an interest in the stopper last summer – in turn, are said to be ready to reignite their pursuit of his services.

Also named as keen on Bellerin are Barcelona, and a pair of clubs in Serie A.

Lamptey on the list

As such, if, when all is said and done, Arsenal do indeed opt to move forward without their Spanish international star, reinforcements will be required.

Bellerin, despite his flaws, has remained the first-choice right-back in Mikel Arteta’s squad this season, notching starts in all but three of the club’s 25 Premier League fixtures.

The Gunners’ boss, and transfer chief Edu, though, nevertheless already appear to have a couple of potential replacements in mind.

Whilst the overall takeaway from Benge’s aforementioned report on Bellerin having of course centered on the Spaniard himself, what was missed by many was a further insight into two players whom Arsenal have already earmarked as summer targets.

The players in question? Norwich City’s Max Aarons, and Tariq Lamptey of Brighton & Hove Albion.

Both of course represent sensible options, in the form of highly regarded up-and-coming English talents, both of whom boast experience at Premier League level.

One issue, however, could be the potential price-tags involved.

Neither Norwich or Brighton are likely to be willing to part with a prized asset on the cheap, with the former believed to remain high on the wishlist of European champions Bayern Munich.
