Awoniyi Needs To Start Firing Now – Forest Legend

Former Nottingham Forest defender Kelvin James Wilson has urged Nigeria’s Super Eagles Taiwo Awoniyi to start firing for the club.

The Nigerian International has just returned to action after spending almost 3 months on the sideline due to injury.

The Forest is presently sitting 17th on the table and must up their game if they want to survive the drop.

“Have we got time to be patient? Time is running out but we need him to start firing now.

I know he’s been injured but the pressure is on and we need him to perform. Ideally, we’d be mid-table and we could keep bringing him on for the last 20 minutes to get his fitness up.

We don’t have the luxury to give him time, we need him to be scoring goals,” the 38-year-old said on the Forest Focus

Awoniyi singlehandedly rescued Forest from going on relegation last season scoring 10 vital goals.

He has scored 6 goals in 17 matches this season.
