It was delight for Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface after his grandmother celebrated his goal for Bayer Leverkusen in the 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund on Sunday at the BayArena.
The Nigerian scored in the 79th minute against Dortmund to make it 1-1 and save the Werkself blushes.
In a video posted on Twitter now X by Germany-based Nigerian Football Writer/Creator Oma Sports, Boniface grandma was seen celebrating with the fans after her grandson scored a crucial equalizer against Dortmund, to keep the club’s unbeaten run in the Bundesliga and Europe.
A delighted grandma was heard shouting Boniface to the delight of fans around her.
After the game, Boniface took his grandma to the Bayer Leverkusen dressing room and introduced her to the squad.
Boniface shared a picture of his grandma with former Arsenal captain, Granit Xhaka.
Recall, Boniface took his grandma to his base in Germany after the international break where he had helped Nigeria secure two draws in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho in Uyo and Zimbabwe in Huye, Rwanda.
