Injured Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface, has undergone a successful surgery with his German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
Boniface sustained a groin injury during the Super Eagles camping exercise in Abu Dhabi and he was ruled out of the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
He was replaced by the OGC Nice attacker Terem Moffi but Boniface has to undergo surgery to correct the wound.
Leverkusen through its social media announced that the Nigerian International has undergone a successful surgery and he will return to Germany to commence his rehabilitation.
“Victor Boniface was successfully operated today (Wednesday) in Berlin. The striker will return to Leverkusen later this week to start his rehabilitation process,” the club said.
