Nigeria’s forward Victor Boniface was the hero on Saturday as Bayer Leverkusen secured a 0-3 away win against Borussia Monchengladbach.
Boniface joined Leverkusen this summer from the Belgian Jupiler league side Union St Gillaloise after a decent outing last season.
The Nigerian international was booked in the 16th minute before he netted the opening goal in the 18th minute of the game.
Jonathan Tah doubled Leverkusen’s lead in the 51st minute before Boniface sealed the game with the 3rd goal in the 54th minute of the encounter.
Boniface was replaced by Gustavo in the 88th minute and the fans in the stadium gave him standing ovations for a decent performance.
