CAFCC: Eguma Apologises To Nigerians, Admits Young Africans Were Better

The head coach of Rivers United Stanley Eguma has tendered an unreserved apology to Nigerians for their ouster from the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Pride of Rivers failed to progress in the competition after they were held to a goalless draw by the Young Africans in the second leg.

The game was played at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium in Dar es Salaam, saw Rivers United doing all that they could to score but were unable to break down the defense of the hosts.

Eguma further admitted that Young Africans are the better side and wish them all the best in future engagement.

“We are using this opportunity to apologise to Nigerians, who have relied so much on us and have so much hope in us being the only Nigerian team in the continent, next time we are going to be better.

“Young Africans are a good side, they deserved to go through and I wish them the best of luck in their future engagements”, he said.
