Nigeria’s representative in the CAF Confederation Cup Rivers United started their campaign in the competition on relatively good note with a draw against Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso.
The Pride of Rivers qualified for the second round of the preliminary round of the competition after they were drawn bye by the African soccer ruling body.
They joined the competition in the Second Round due to their decent performance last season finishing in the quarter-final.
Etoile on their part reached the second after they defeated Casa Ziguiqor of Senegal in the first round.
The game which was held at Yammoussokro in Abidjan in a goalless affair despite the efforts of the two teams to secure a vital victory.
Rivers United will host the second leg of the game at the Adokie Amasiamaka stadium in Port Harcourt in a fortnight.
