Chelsea Set To Sign Nigerian Midfielder, Medical Fixed For Sunday


Ahead of the 2023/2024 English Premier League season, Chelsea has added another midfielder to their team.

The Blues have agreed terms with the French Ligue One side Stade De Rennes for the Nigeria-Eligible midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu.

Ugochukwu was born in France and is the nephew of former Rennes and Nigeria center-back Onyekachi Apam.

According to the report, Chelsea has agreed to pay £23.5 million and the deal will be completed in the coming days with a medical set to take place in the next 24 hours.

He has already agreed personal terms and is set to sign a new long-term deal.

Although it is not yet known whether he will join the first-team squad or head out on loan.
