The head coach of Banyana Banyana of South Africa Desiree Ellis has given an update on the current crises rocking the team ahead of the World Cup.
The African champions have been in turmoil in the last 24 hours, as the players have been at loggerhead with the South African Football Association over bonuses and allowances.
The players have threatened not to honour their send-forth game against Botswana organised for them late on Sunday.
But the team coach has successfully persuaded the players to honour the game and they will have to sit down and iron out some pressing issues.
We had to put a team on the field so we had to have a team on the field today,” Ellis told SABC Sports TV before the match.
“We have a team and we will be ready to play,” said a teary-eyed Elis. “Once we get the game out of the way obviously we will sit down and see the way forward”, she added.
