Nuno fined for criticising Mason

Chaos erupted between Brighton and West Brom after the Seagulls were denied what looked to be a completely legitimate goal after referee Lee Mason blew his whistle for a free kick which was scored, only to blow it again before the ball entered the goal. He received plenty of criticism for his actions and it is not the first time.

Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito was fined for criticising Lee Mason in November saying that he is ‘not good enough’ and that ‘he has to improve, he has to get better.’

Officials across the Premier League have faced criticism this season with the inclusion of VAR. Calls for officiating interviews, microphone connected referees and sanctions for poor performances all levelled.

Fans want Nuno refund

Since the outcome of the controversial decision, how many fans have now called upon the FA to refund Nuno Espirito Santo the £25,000 fine he was given for his comments regarding the professionality of Lee Mason.

Here is a selection of some aggrieved supporters:

It would be startling to see the FA do such a thing. So do not hold your breath.
