Golfers across the country are converging on Ekiti Golf’s club for the 2021 Captains Day tournament holding between Thursday 29th & Saturday 1st of May.

The three day tournament is in commemoration of the successful tenure of the captain of the club Gboyega Omotoyinbo.

A press statement by the captain states that the three day tournament begins on Thursday April 29 with the caddies and workers competition while the Pros across the country will take to the course on Friday 30th of April.

The major contest is on Saturday 1st of May when golfers in Ekiti State will slug it out with their counterparts from the other states of the country.

According to the captain of the club, Gboyega Omotoyinbo, the caddies and the workers competition is aimed at encouraging the young caddies to take to playing golf and to further develop the feature of the game in Ekiti.

Omotoyinbo also encouraged golfers across the country to participate in the tournament as Ekiti golf course now poses to be among the best in the country.

According to Omotoyinbo, Ekiti golf course is one of the busiest courses in the country as it has been hosting tournament from time to time.

The captain noted that the recent upkeep of the Ekiti golf course is aimed at making the course more challenging and ensure that tournaments on the course are more interesting.

He called on golfers across the country to participate in the tournament.
