“I Was Confused After Arsenal Adventure” – Super Eagles Midfielder

Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Nathan Tella has said he was confused after he failed to secure a professional contract with English Premeir League side Arsenal.

Tella joined the Gunners Academy in 2007 after he was scouted by the club but he was released in 2017 after the club refused to offer him a professional contract.

While speaking with VAVEL, Tella said he doesn’t know what to do after the failed adventure.

” I couldn’t believe it, Arsenal was all I I knew from the age 6 when I got scouted.

It was tough because I didn’t know what I wanted to do. May be stay at Arsenal, try force their hand and make another decision or if I was to go out on trials.

I spoke to my family and my agent they said it’s best to go on trials to see what I can do and get out of my comfort zone.

” it was tough because I didn’t know what I wanted to do”, he said.

Tella played active role in Burnley gaining promotion to the premier league while on loan from Southampton to Turf Moor.

Due to his performance in England, German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen paid £20 million to secure his service and scored 6 goals as Leverkusen won the league for the first time in their history.
