Italian Serie A side Salernitana has confirmed that Nigeria’s Super Eagles defender William Troost Ekong will be absent for 2 weeks.
The club released a statement about him late on Friday and further said he sustained the injury during a league game against Hellas Verona.
“US Salernitana 1919 announces that William Troost-Ekong underwent MRIs and CT scans at the Centro Polidiagnostico check-Up which showed a tibial plateau fracture from trauma.
The athlete has already started the physiotherapy protocol and will carry out new diagnostic checks in two weeks”, the club confirmed.
Ekong has played three games for Salernitana. He signed a one-season loan deal with a mandatory purchase option if certain conditions are met.
