Jack Grealish and Matty Cash remain absent for Villa ahead of Sheffield United clash

Out again

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has confirmed in his pre match press conference that both Jack Grealish and Matty Cash remain unavailable for Villa’s trip to Sheffield United tomorrow.

He continued to add on Grealish that:

“It’s frustrating because he’s a top player and we’d be a better team having him in it. But it’s one of those things – players get injured. It’s how you cope without those top players.

He just feels it on one movement, so once that’s free he can go and train. We’re looking at whether we can get him on the training pitch by the end of this week. ”

Smith also provided an update on Matty Cash.

There was better news on Kourtney House who is back on the training ground and running and Wesley who is back in full training after his knee injury.

Praise for El Ghazi

Smith also spoke about Anwar El Ghazi and his current upturn in form including scoring the winner against Leeds.

Smith also said that he has a new name at the training ground, “Anwar El Goalzi“. Speaking on him further he said:

“He’s just come into the team and he needs confidence. When he is a confident player, he looks one hell of a player. He came on against Wolves, scored a penalty and then went on a goalscoring spree. Hopefully he can take confidence from his performance against Leeds and continue that into March.

I just want him to keep believing in himself because when he does, he can be unplayable at times. “

Aston Villa will be looking to keep pace with those chasing the European places and will fancy their chances when they visit bottom of the table Sheffield United.
