Jurgen Klopp has spoken out about the upcoming international break during his press conference today. He is of the opinion that Premier League should not let players travel should they be subject to quarantine when they return.

Klopp on #LFC players travelling to red list countries later this month for international duty:
“We are concerned, yes. There were two periods in the last international break when more cases went up. England is in the right direction but yes, we are concerned.” #awlfc [lfc]

Four of his main players, Brazil’s Alisson, Roberto Firmino and Fabinho in addition to Portugal forward Diogo Jota will all be required to undergo 10 days self-isolation under current guidelines as they arrive back from Red List countries.
Klopp: “The players are paid by the clubs, so we have to be first priority. You can’t make everybody happy at the same time in this situation. We are not 100% clear were everyone plays. We can’t influence it.”

Klopp: “We cannot let the players go so they have to stay in a hotel for 10 days when they return. That is not how we can do it.”

Jürgen Klopp has provided a squad update ahead of #LIVCHE
— Liverpool FC (@LFC) March 3, 2021
Klopp said “Ali trained now the full week and yes, we should expect that he is able to return.”
“Fab has now five or six sessions in his legs and we have to make a decision how we deal with that, but he looks good and is ready for the squad for sure.”
Speaking on Jota he said, “Diogo had this little stomach problem and he trained yesterday only a little bit; he was only out there for the warming up and the rondos and then had a little run. I got the message that he feels better again, so we will see what we can do with that. “
