Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believed to be interested in Real Madrid’s Rodrygo

A recent report from Spain has credited Liverpool with an interest in Real Madrid forward, Rodrygo.

Rodrygo’s Real Madrid stint

Rodrygo made the switch to the Bernabeu in the summer of 2019 from Brazilian outfit, Santos.

Los Blancos are believed to have paid around €45m to land the winger, which is a fairly hefty summer considering he had zero experience in one of Europe’s top-five leagues before the move.

Rodrygo has since endured a fairly mixed stint in the Spanish capital.

The Brazilian has notched 43 appearances across all competitions for Real Madrid. In said ties he has scored eight goals and provided nine assists.

However, the 20-year-old has struggled a fair bit to become a regular starter under Zinedine Zidane.

This season for example, Rodrygo was being handed a decent number of appearances before his hamstring injury that has since seen him miss Madrid’s last nine La Liga outings.

However, Rodrygo has still not completed 90 minutes in the league this season.

Liverpool linked with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo

And now, it appears the former Santos standout has become a target of a Premier League side.

According to a report from Diariogol, Liverpool could undergo a ‘small revolution’ this summer, which could see one of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane or Roberto Firmino depart the club.

One player Jurgen Klopp is said to be interested in to bring in for the Reds is the aforementioned Rodrygo.

Diariogol write that ‘Klopp has let the network directive fall that it would be a good option to sign him for his Liverpool and give him many more opportunities.’

In terms of a potential fee for Rodrygo, the report claims that Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez, would welcome the winger’s departure, as long as Liverpool stump up around €50m.
