Liverpool fan offers Reds bizarre solution to improve their home form

Liverpool’s Anfield woes

Up until recently, Anfield had of course proven a real fortress for Liverpool.

The Reds had rattled off a 68-game unbeaten run at the ground, a key factor in their first Premier League title last year.

However, since losing that record to, of all sides, Burnley back in January, Jurgen Klopp and co. have been simply woeful at home.

Defeat at the hands of Burnley was followed by further losses to all of Brighton, Manchester City, Everton and, most recently, Chelsea.

The most recent of these means that Liverpool have now lost five games in a row at Anfield for the first time in their storied history.

The Merseysiders have also scored just one home Premier League goal since the turn of the year:

How Liverpool can improve at home

Now, though, amid the club’s woes at Anfield, a Liverpool fan has provided his take on a rather bizarre effort his side could make to improve their form.

Speaking to talkSPORT recently, one member of the Reds fanbase voiced his opinion that the empty seats/backdrop at Anfield being the same colour as the players’ home kit is causing issues:

“My belief is it’s not just at Anfield, it’s all clubs that play in red like Liverpool, Man United and Arsenal.

“We have red backdrops and we play in red kits.

“I believe it is the colour clash when clubs are passing the ball, it takes them longer to visualise their players.”

A solution to this, according to the supporter, would be to ‘change their backdrop’ to match the club’s away kit:

“If you’re making a painting and you put a red colour on top of a red, it actually looks worse than blue on blue.

“I can guarantee if Liverpool changed their backdrop to their away kit, they would perform a lot better.

“Even if it only made a 10 per cent difference, in the scheme of things 10 per cent is a lot.”
