Super Eagles will have their first training session at 5:00 pm on Wednesday ahead of their 2024 African Nations Cup qualifier last group match versus São Tomé and Principe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.

Super Eagles’ camp for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sao Tome will start bubbling as from today (Wednesday) as camp officially opened for resumption.

Meanwhile as at Tuesday afternoon the officials of the team have settled down at the Four Points Sheraton hotel, Uyo waiting to receive the players and prepare them for the weekend encounter..

“Our camp will open on Wednesday not on Monday as initially reported. “We expect most of the players to arrive in camp that day; many of them would have been in the country from Tuesday and they would just make a connecting flight to Uyo from Lagos and Abuja the same day so as to arrive at the camp on time. One of the official of the team said.

“We expect to have our first training session by 5 pm on Wednesday and we expect that most of the players would be around to take part in that session,” he said.

Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, has called up 23 players ahead of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe this weekend. Super Eagles defeated São Tomé and Principe 10-0 in the first leg of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers in Libya and would be looking forward to repeating same superb performance in front of their home fans.
