Norwich chief admits club are aware they will have to sell Arsenal-linked Aarons

Max Aarons a man in demand

Max Aarons is a product of Norwich City’s youth system.

Despite being just 21, the full-back has already notched over a century of appearances for the Canaries’ senior side.

Aarons was one of the few bright sparks for Norwich during their less than stellar 2019/20 Premier League campaign, and has since shone this season, too, as Daniel Farke’s men edge closer to a swift return to the English top-flight.

Such fine form, coupled with his age and the fact that he is English, in turn, has made Aarons something of a man in demand.

All of Arsenal, Manchester United and Bayern Munich have been credited with an interest in the youngster.

Norwich accept they will part ways with Aarons

And now, Norwich co-owner, Delia Smith, has handed any interested parties hope of landing the stopper.

Speaking during a recent interview, Smith first revealed her opinion that Aarons will go on to develop into a top footballer.

However, she then added that ‘it won’t be at Norwich’, with it ‘obvious’ that the club will lose their gifted young talent:

“Luckily, because of this wonderful team behind the scenes, we have some really lovely players.

“They’ve got a nice temperament and Max Aarons is one of the best. He is going to be one of the top footballers and it won’t be at Norwich.

“He knows that, we know that. But we didn’t have any problem with Max or his parents on this particular occasion and this particular deal. Obviously, we will lose him, but that is part of our plan.”

In terms of a potential fee for Aarons, Norwich are likely to demand a hefty sum, as evidenced above by reports that Bayern Munich were quoted a fee of over £30 million for the defender.
