The General Secretary of Nigeria Footbal Federation, NFF, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi said it will be too early to write off the Super Eagled as non title contender in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations due to the team’s outing in the opener against Equatorial Guinea.
Sanusi stated this in Abuja while reacting to the Super Eagles 1 -1 draw on Sunday afternoon where the team lacked tactical play against low ranked Equatorial Guinea.
The NFF Scribe said he sees the Super Eagles emerging champions at the end of the tournament.
He said as a trained and certified coach, first match is always difficult and as the unexpected teams always want to spring surprises at the beginning of competitions .
“To me the Super Eagles didn’t play poorly only that the Eagles didn’t take their chances. I must tell you we have one of the best teams in this AFCON .
“The team is highly motivated by the NFF and Federal Government. I strongly believe in this team and the kind relationship that exist in the team have never existed for a long time.”
Sanusi urged Nigerians to pray and support the team towards winning the ongoing Nations Cup.
